Who qualifies
A business registered and operating in Singapore (company, LLP, partnership or sole proprietorship), with at least 30% of it held by Singapore citizens or PRs, directly or indirectly, and group revenue up to S$100 million or up to 200 staff. The bank or finance company still does its own credit check, so meeting the criteria doesn't guarantee the loan.
What the risk share means
If the company can't repay, Enterprise Singapore covers part of the bank's loss. That makes banks readier to lend to smaller and younger companies. It doesn't reduce what the company owes: the company repays the whole loan, with interest.
Common questions
Who sets the interest rate?
The bank, after looking at the company's accounts and track record. That's why banks publish a starting rate, the top of their range, or both: we price each loan at both ends, so expect your monthly to fall between them. Ask two or three banks for a quote.
Government-assisted or the bank's own loan?
The government-assisted SME Working Capital Loan is often easier to get: Enterprise Singapore shares the bank's risk, so banks lend to younger and smaller companies. A bank's own business loan has its own rules, and some can be taken on top of the government-assisted one.
Does the government guarantee the loan?
No. Enterprise Singapore shares the bank's risk of loss, but the company repays the full loan. Directors are often asked for a personal guarantee: check the bank's terms.
Can a sole proprietor apply?
Yes. Sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs and companies registered with ACRA and operating in Singapore can apply, subject to the lender's assessment.
How do I apply?
Tap Apply via WhatsApp on a package above, and we take it to the bank with you. Or apply to a participating bank or finance company directly, or through Enterprise Singapore's ESIMS portal.
What happens when I tap Apply via WhatsApp?
WhatsApp opens with the package and your loan amount filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send. We then check the package with you and tell you who we'd pass your details to: our contact at the bank, or a referral partner. We pass them on only after you say yes.
What does it cost to apply through BankLoan.sg?
You pay us nothing. If you take up a loan we helped you apply for, the bank or our referral partner may pay us a referral fee. Ask us and we'll tell you whether one applies to your case.
